Shikolone Sophia was born in Rome. Shortly after her birth the family moved to a small fishing town of Pozzuoli, near Naples, where the childhood and youth of Sofia. As a teenager, she was called "Stekketto", meaning "perch" - for high growth andleanness. Her first step to fame began at fourteen winning the local beauty contest, then the family moved to Rome, Sofia. In 1950 he participated in the contest "Miss Italy", where he received the prize of "Miss Elegance", established by the jury for her.
